The Thursday DWC Time Trial Series will pick up where the Wednesday FLC TT series left off. Through May, the TT series will be Iron Horse prep events. (We will look at the possibility of rescheduling if weather becomes an issue on any scheduled date.)

Please Note: All participants must be current 2008 DWC members in good standing to participate in any DWC cycling event! Membership forms will be available at the start. Annual dues is $25, $15 for students and juniors.

Sign in promptly. First rider will be started as soon as practical. Latecomers will be self-timed. Donations are encouraged to keep the timing crew happy.

The IHBC TT Course is one way entirely on CR 250 (East Animas) with finish just south of Shalona Lake. Start is at Jehovah’s Witness Hall on CR 250 .85 miles North of 32nd Street (Don’t count on being able to park there, the lot is normally gated)

Coal Bank TT is the classic course we have always done. Start on Highway 550 opposite Cascade Village entrance, finish at top of Coal Bank Pass.

Volunteers are encouraged to help with timing. The DWC TT are not much work and it is a great way to spectate. We can also use timing help for the REAL IHBC TT. That may be a bit of work!

The Durango Wheel Club will be hosting two training criteriums at the Mercy Medical Center to help DWC members prep for the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic Criterium. These training criteriums will be held on Sunday April 27th and Sunday May 11th.

You must be a current DWC member to participate in this event! Membership sign-up will be available at registration.

$10 for current 2008 DWC members.
$30 for non-members, includes 2008 annual dues.
$20 for student non-members, includes 2008 annual dues.

This is NOT a USCF sanctioned race. Cash prices for top places will be awarded according to participation.

Please race in the group you usually ride in during the Tuesday group rides. Sandbaggers will not be tolerated!

Schedule for Sunday 4/27/08:
8 am registration
8:15 course open for inspection & practice
9:00 C group, 25 minutes +3 laps
9:45 B group, 25 minutes +3 laps
10:30 B+ group, 40 minutes +3 laps
11:30 A group, 40 minutes +3 laps

Times and groups are subject to change according to participation.

Registration will be held at Mercy Medical Center starting at 8 am. Look for signs to registration. Registration will close 10 minutes prior to the start of each race. Please arrive early so that we avoid a last minute rush!

The Saturday group ride start time has been moved up to 11 am!

The start location will remain at Bread.

Usually we will have someone on hand to make the group splits, but be prepared to make the group split and choose the ride amongst yourselves!

These rides are intended to be a little less formal (and a bit more social) than our Tuesday group rides.

With most local lodging filled up for Iron Horse Bicycle Classic weekend (May 23-26) we have riders and racers looking for housing. If any members know of any available locations or would be willing to provide host housing for racers and riders please let me know.

The Saturday group ride has been a huge success! For the last 3 weeks we have enough cyclists to split into 3 different groups according to ability level. We will continue to meet on Saturdays for the remainder of the season.
