Head-to-head bicycle races on stationary indoor rollers, contestants provide their own bicycles, road-type with 700c front wheels are necessary. Furthest distance covered in 15 minutes wins.

Categories: men 18-45 years old; men 45 + older; women 18- 40; women over 40; and men & women under 18 years.

All participants will receive a Durango Cyclery water bottle and compete for prizes.

The Durango Winter Triathlon will be held on Jan. 26 at the Nordic Center. A world championship qualifier, the event will feature a 2.1-mile run, a 12-mile mountain bike ride and a 6-mile ski - all on snow.

There will be a mass start at 10 a.m., and there is a limit of 220 entries in seven age categories for both men and women.

Cash prizes of $250 will be awarded to the fastest amatuer male and fastest amatuer female finishers. Studded shoes and tires are acceptable; bikes used at the event must be mountain bikes.

Individual and Team registration closes at noon on Jan. 25.

Local junior development cycling team, Durango DEVO, will make team jerseys available to the public through the end of January. Donate $250.00 and receive a blue U-14 or red U-19 2008 team DEVO jersey. Donors will also be included in all 2008 media, listed as a friend of DEVO.
